Cappadocia's unique rock formations were created by the erosion of volcanic tuffs by wind and rain over millions of years. During the Persian era, Cappadocia was known as "Katpatuka" — the Land of Beautiful Horses.
You will explore underground cities with stables, ventilation systems, wine cellars, churches and living spaces. Göreme Open-Air Museum features Byzantine frescoes in rock churches. Key highlights: Uçhisar Castle, Devrent Valley, Paşabağ Valley, Pigeon Valley and Lovers' Valley.
